Exclusive New Television Series Presents Big Opportunity to High School Vocalists in North Carolina
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Phruntline Music Committee will present a groundbreaking new television series geared towards a positive opportunity for talented teens to break into the entertainment industry. The innovative series, titled “Rip the Hallways” is a unique vocalist competition exclusive to North Carolina and broadcast giant Time Warner Cable. The winner will receive a $10,000 cash prize and a song produced by a multi-platinum producer, along with impressive exposure and other prizes.
The 13-week cycle, which is scheduled for debut December 2009, is a feat quite foreign to the music industry desolation North Carolina suffers from.

“North Carolina is filled with talented vocalists and musicians who are doomed to either remain undiscovered, or migrate to cities where the music industry offers more opportunity. We have established an outlet for both aspiring musicians and major record companies to find what they are looking for right here in North Carolina,” said Phruntline founder and executive producer Knox “J. Malice” Ewers.

“Rip the Hallways” is guaranteed to garner massive amounts of local and neighboring communities.

Four contestants were selected from the summer auditions held in Fayetteville. 13 year-old Ariel Sprague of E.E. Smith High School gave casting directors goose bumps as she sang her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”  Jazmine Rose, 14, Jamal Sutton, 16 and Brittney Kennedy, 15, also made it past the auditions, into the competition beginning October 25 and on to the big screen for our viewing pleasure in December on Time Warner Cable. A video of each contestant’s audition can be seen online at www.RipTheHallways.com

The community is encouraged to participate in the competition by being apart of the studio audience as the talented teens compete for their dreams to come true at the Crown Theatre in Fayetteville, NC. Tickets for the studio audience are available at all ticket master locations including www.ticketmaster.com or call 1-866-448-7849 to purchase tickets over the phone.

The series is expected to attract national attention to a fairly small town.

“Fayetteville is an All-American city with a diverse population. It’s home to one of the largest military installations in the country, and is filled with people and musicians who have lived all over the world and have experienced things the average American hasn't. We believe this quality will bring spice and distinction to the show, as well as a feeling of pride most events can’t offer North Carolina,” comments Mr. Ewers.

“Rip the Hallways Teen Vocalist Series” will film at the Crown Theater in Fayetteville Sundays at 4:30 p.m. October 25, November 1st, 8th and 15th. The dates for the final rounds will be released soon.
Phruntline Music Committee is scouring several North Carolina cities to choose 36 of the most talented teen vocalists. Auditions will be held on September 26 in Greensboro at NC A&T School of Music and September 27 at the Main Public Library in Charlotte.  Auditions will continue on October 3 in Raleigh at the Cameron Village Library and October 4 at the Headquarters Library in Fayetteville. Once selected, 36 teens will then break off into nine groups for the competitions. Thereafter, a panel of internationally recognized music experts will select a winner and runner-up from each group. Upon conclusion, the final rounds will begin. Viewers will have the chance to vote for their favorite performers by text message voting and calling the hotline.

Call 910-322-7594 or visit www.RipTheHallways.com for ticket information, updates, exclusive footage, audition sign-ups, volunteer and sponsorship/advertising opportunities and much more.
“Rip the Hallways” is projected to be a favorite among North Carolina viewers. Get ready to witness the future of the entertainment industry right at home in North Carolina.
